DR. JEFF BOLDING

The purpose of The Drum Major for Justice Certificate in Public Theology is to equip pastors, lay people, activists, and others to find their voice in collaboration and organized action with others.

The 4-month certificate program explores the common roots of racial oppression and resistance movements (e.g., the Black Church, Black and Womanist Theology, Liberation Theology, Indigenous Peoples’ Theology), in order to mobilize churches and communities of faith to pursue racial justice and societal transformation.

The next available cohort begins in January of 2025. Pricing for the JCSTS Certificate in Public Theology is $1,550. For more information or to register, complete the form below and you will receive more information via email.

I just completed the MLK 2022 Drum Major for Justice Cohort program. It was truly a life-altering experience. Learned a lot and met some phenomenal people along the way. Much obliged to the JCSTS staff. They are amazing people that made this course worthwhile.

The teaching staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and the material presented extremely challenging, both academically and emotionally. One incredible plus was having classmates so willing to share their thoughts so openly with every one of us.  Each week, I was struck by how my classmates often picked up on different aspects of the material assigned each week. It forced us to see the material presented to us through another’s eyes. For that I will always be eternally grateful.

I came out of this class realizing how little I knew and how much more I had to learn, and knowing that once you learn the truth, it is impossible to unlearn it.  This class gave me the strength, knowledge, and desire to share the truth with others.

This class, while incredibly emotional, proved to be beyond all my expectations and honestly, it changed my life.  Not a day goes by, that I am not impacted by something I learned in that class.
